Blood and Bone by Tara Brown
My rating: 1 of 5 stars
I consider myself to be of average intelligence. I can recite the ingredients of a Big Mac forward AND backward. I memorized Poe's The Raven. I can balance a spoon on my nose and fold dollar bills into little shirts. What I CAN'T do, however, is find a single redeeming factor relevant to this book. The multi-layered plot (and I use the term plot loosely) is silly at best. The ridiculously implausible events that tumble one onto the next stop at a Truman-Show-Esque anti-climax that made me wish back the time I had invested reading. The explicit porn served absolutely no purpose in furthering the action and was gratuitous and self-serving indulgence on the part of the author. If I had to choose between rereading this and eating live bees, look out hive--here I come.
